New Horror Short From DOCTOR WHO Author Andy Frankham-Allen

Off FleshAndy Frankham-Allen isn’t necessarily new to publishing, but he is new to Untreed Reads. If you’ve been a fan of Doctor Who for any period of time, you’ve probably seen Andy’s work in several of the Short Trips series of short story collections from Big Finish. He has also served as the Editor for Doctor Who: The Legacy, a very well-respected series of stories related to the universe of Doctor Who.

Inside Andy, however, there are much darker demons percolating in his subconscious than any the Doctor might encounter in his travels. From this horror side of his talents comes his first release with Untreed Reads entitled “Off Flesh.”

The Blurb:

While at a hotel for a convention and away from his husband, Mr. Jensen finds himself drawn to the youthful and energetic Mr. Wyndham. When Wyndham enters the hotel’s lift and fails to reappear elsewhere, Jensen discovers that sometimes craving the company of someone other than your spouse can have very serious consequences.

“Off Flesh” is available through The Untreed Reads Store (GreenPass members save an additional 15%), at Amazon for the Kindle and at most of the retailers listed on the right side of our website.

Not seeing it at your favorite retailer on our list? It will be there shortly! It sometimes may take our distributors a week from release to post the title.

All Untreed Reads titles are available for every platform and device, including the iPad, nook and Kindle. All titles are compatible with all reading applications. Title selection at individual retailers may vary depending on what they choose to carry.

Wow. Looks great. Where do I buy Doctor Who: The Legacy? I can’t find it on Amazon. When was it published?

  2. UntreedReads says:

I think the series is being reprinted, but I’ll pass along your note to Andy and see if he can’t give you an update.

    And here I am!

Hi there, Lucy. Thanks for your comments. Right at the now The Legacy is on hold while I focus on setting up more important writing projects. However, hopefully, The Legacy will be printed and available to buy via lulu.com sometime next year. It will be a charity run, seeing as I do not hold the license to officially publish a Doctor Who product, which gives you even more reason to buy them.

    Thanks for your interest.

Oh, I see. Thought it was original. Bit of a cheek isn’t it – trading off the back of something unofficial. If I started writing Star Trek fan fiction could I start saying I’m a Star Trek writing.

Very disappointing. Gives me less reason to buy them I reckon.

  6. Andy Frankham-Allen says:

    Hi again, Lucy.

That is, of course, your perogative. But I would like to point out that I have also penned several official Doctor Who short stories, which were released under license from the BBC. So, ergo, you see I’m not trading off something that is unofficial. I am, officially, a Doctor Who writer. All my published *official* Who fiction was published during the Legacy’s run. This is why, in the promotional piece above, it’s my professional Who stories that are mentioned first.

The Legacy, although ultimately fan fiction, was most certainly original. It was not a series of stories using the TV characters (except for the occasional cameo), but rather a side-step into a universe of What If?, exploring a side of Doctor Who that could never be explored in official fiction. It was a well-respected series, several ideas of which found their way into the current series (that’s been running since 2005). Could be coincidence, but in the universe of Doctor Who fiction I don’t believe in coincidence.

If you chose not to be interested and not to buy them, that is entirely up to you.

    And, Mariola! Good moaning! ;)

I think you will enjoy it; but it is a lot darker than my Doctor Who stories you’ve read.

    But thank you!
