New Fantasy Title Released As Benefit For Author Rie McGaha

A Winter's NightRie McGaha is well-known in the ebook world as a writer of many romance novels through Noble Romance Publishing. In May, she decided she wanted to branch out into new territory with a fantasy novel. We loved the idea and signed Rie on for A Winter’s Night: Volume I.

Through the process of editing, proofreading and all the things that go into the release of a work, we discovered so much more about Rie. She had raised a huge family, had a lot of grandchildren, had been a homeschool teacher and had lived a really good life on a big plot of land in Oklahoma. The neighbors didn’t necessarily approve of what she wrote, but that was ok by her.

As we neared the original release date of this work back in late June, we received horrible news. While out visiting her family, Rie’s entire house burned to the ground. Absolutely NOTHING was left. Fortunately, nobody was home. However, Rie lost everything she ever owned in the fire. The insurance company has yet to come through, and precious things like family photos just can’t be replaced.

The crew here felt horrible for Rie, and decided we would do whatever we could to help. Designer Dara England donated the cover. We’re also happy to announce that through December 31st, 2010 ALL royalties earned on sales of A Winter’s Night: Volume I will be given to Rie to help rebuild her life. We hope that this will help  her to be able to start anew.

The Blurb:

Four sisters discover that they are born into a line of women with powers to control the Elements. Plucked from their normal college lives and thrust into a battle to save the Earth, can they defeat the evil Montatre?

Rie is also offering a free copy of Ghosts of Valentines Past to anyone who purchases A Winter’s Night. Details can be found at her website at http://www.riemcgaha.com/awintersnight.htm .

A Winter’s Night: Volume I is available through The Untreed Reads Store (GreenPass members save an additional 15%), at Amazon for the Kindle and at most of the retailers listed on the right side of our website.

Not seeing it at your favorite retailer on our list? It will be there shortly! It sometimes may take our distributors a week from release to post the title.

All Untreed Reads titles are available for every platform and device, including the iPad, nook and Kindle. All titles are compatible with all reading applications. Title selection at individual retailers may vary depending on what they choose to carry.

Charity Read: TO SPEAK FOR THE DEAD by Paul Levine

dc244a393ccce726311c7851825624f392f7c952 thumb Charity Read: TO SPEAK FOR THE DEAD by Paul LevineWhenever possible, we try to promote ebooks that are being used to help out in charitable ways. We discovered this one this morning. Here’s the details:

The Blurb:

A doctor in love with his patient’s wife… A fatal mistake during surgery… Accident? Malpractice? Or murder? Jake Lassiter, the linebacker-turned-lawyer, is on the case. The bestselling novel was named by the L.A. Times as one of the best thrillers of the year. “Move over Scott Turow. ‘To Speak for the Dead’ is courtroom drama at its very best.” – Larry King, USA Today

From the Author:

Now, on the 20th anniversary of hardcover publication, the courtroom thriller is available as an e-book at the astonishing price of $2.99. That’s right, less than your double mocha latte, with far fewer calories. Even if you don’t own an e-reader, you can download the book to your laptop or desktop. I’m donating all proceeds of the book to a cause that’s very special to me: the Four Diamonds Fund, which supports cancer treatment for kids at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital.

At only $2.99, this is an incredible deal and really does go for a worthy cause. Editor-In-Chief Jay Hartman has read Paul Levine’s work and assures all readers that they won’t be disappointed.

Charity Reads From T.C. Beacham

Escaping CeliaAt Untreed Reads, we’re more than just a publisher and an informational blog. When we see people using ebooks to help further great causes, we like to give them a platform as well.

T.C. Beacham is a self-published author who fits that profile perfectly. Beacham has two works out:

Escaping Celia: Escaping Celia is the story of Carly O’Shea, whose long-awaited solo vacation is derailed when her mother, aunt, and relentless cousin Celia invade her seaside cottage. Toss in a snarly runaway teen, a hot guitar player, a cool Southern boy, a gun-toting matron, and a wise boardwalk barista-and you’ve got the kind of summer stew that gives everybody heartburn!

Leave Me Gasping: Leave Me Gasping is a smart, sleek, high-stakes mystery featuring amateur detective Del Jakes. A childhood friend is missing and Del travels home to Florida. In a whirlwind of clues and revelations, the sleuth and her cohorts move from a grungy marina grill to a luxurious waterfront enclave; Sound side towns to Gulf side mangrove thickets; suspicion to trust; despair to hope-and grief to love.

10% of all sales are being donated to ocean and wetlands conservation. In this day and age of pollution and tragic oil spills, this type of charity is more needed than ever.

Although we haven’t read the titles, we hope you’ll be willing to take a chance on the work and help support a worthwhile cause. The titles can be found at Smashwords, Amazon, B&N and Kobobooks.com.
